In order to manage large numbers of reviews (assignments) within your workspace it's important to focus on just a subset of reviews at times. To enable that, we've added a feature we call "Review Groups".
Review Groups are currently only available to Team, Enterprise and Education+ customers.
Review groups are completely customizable per project/class. Each project/class has a Review Group Type, e.g Department or Episode to give the groups a proper scope.
Once you define Review Groups, the feature will be enabled. To define your Review Groups, open your Project Settings tab and select Review Groups. You can also access these settings quickly by clicking the pencil icon next to Review Groups on the Reviews tab.
In this example you can see that we labeled our Group Type "Departments" and added three departments for reviews: comp, lighting and anim.
When creating or editing reviews/assignments, you can assign them to a group for easy filtering. Hovering over the Review reveals a button labeled "no Departments" by default. then you can select a review group from the list when clicking that button.
Once you setup your review groups and add reviews to them, you can quickly filter your list of reviews using the available quick filters on the left side of the Reviews tab.
Review Group filtering is sticky, which means it will remember your choice when you reload or access your project again. This will greatly speed up loading times for customers with lots of reviews, and allow them to keep reviews that don't concern them hidden.
Other ways to use the feature
You can easily add, remove or edit review groups if necessary. You can configure the review groups however you like; for example, educators could organize it by assignments, student mini-groups, or even individual students so that each student or group sees only the reviews relevant to them. (Note: This is not currently a security feature; each user can change their own filtering. It's just for reducing clutter and confusion.)
Try it with the Copy Items feature!
This is also very useful when combined with the ability to add instances of items to other reviews. For example, you could have the same file in reviews meant for several specific departments or groups, each with its own set of annotations. See Copying Items into Other Reviews for more information.
We hope you find this feature helpful.
