The latest Annotation Tools are currently available on an opt-in basis and can be turned off if you'd like to revert to the previous version. We're planning to make this a permanent change soon, so please reach out with any feedback you have. We’d love to hear from you!
Note: Please refer to Using the SyncSketch Drawing Tools for old Annotation tools
How to Opt In or Out:
Under the Project Settings, navigate to Player Settings at the Project level, where you can select either the New or Old Annotation tools.
Basic Sketching Controls
With refreshed icons and controls, at the top of the main Review Player, you will find our new Annotation Tools. (The available tool set may vary depending on the media type, browser application, screen size, or device orientation.)
New updated Icons:
| With the updated annotation tool we have introduced the Move Canvas tool is Default when opening the player to avoid any accidental sketches. Followed up the Pencil, Paint Brush, Eraser, and the Laser pointer. |
New Shape tools:
| New shape tools make it easier to insert a preselected shape from the tool bar. |
New Color tools

Clicking the Eyedropper control will allow you to select a color directly from your media. Note: The Eyedropper control is not available on mobile devices. |

When the Paint Brush tool is selected, you can configure the advanced Brush settings by clicking the settings icon at the top of the left toolbar or by clicking the brush icon again. With the new simplified UI, you can quickly change the Tip Shape and adjust Hardness, Spacing and Dynamics When working with Dynamics, we use the settings under Speed when there is no pen detected, and switch to Pressure when a pen that supports pressure is detected. Setting the sliders to a value of 0 will ensure no dynamics are applied, if that is desired. |

| The Variation control sliders and associated values have been updated to be more intuitive to use. |
