Occasionally you might want to disconnect (kick/boot/block/ban) users from a review session. This can be done from a dropdown menu in the reviewer list that appears when there is more than one person in a review.
Clicking the x to the right of a reviewer's name will disconnect them immediately.
This dropdown also displays whether each reviewer is synced, unsynced or presenting (see Presentation Mode) so that you can determine whether it is necessary to disconnect the reviewer. Unsynced users are in the review, but they do not disrupt the review for synced reviewers, and annotations made by the synced and unsynced reviewers will not necessarily be visible immediately to one another.
Does this ban the user?
This does not ban or block the user from re-entering the Review; they can do so by simply hitting the browser's Back button.
To ban/block the user securely, you must first secure the review. This can be done several ways depending on how the reviewer was able to access the review. For example, you may need to do one of the following:
- Change the permissions for the Share Link that the user used to access the Review.
- Change the permissions for the Project (public vs. private, or the user membership).
- Disable the Review for External Collaborators.
Then disconnect the user from inside the Review Player.
There is no way to directly block or ban a specific public/guest user or external collaborator by ID or IP address.
Who can disconnect reviewers?
Members, Project Admins and workspace owners can all disconnect any other reviewer. Viewers, Reviewers and Guests/External collaborators cannot disconnect any other reviewer.
