Recording an Audio Note
Sometimes sketches and text notes really don't convey what you want to in a review. Or sometimes it's simply faster to say what you want to say than to type it. For this, you can record audio rather than typing out a text note.
When you click the microphone icon, you can now begin a recording.
Please Note: the first time you use the Audio Notes feature, you'll be asked to grant access to your microphone in your browser.
A waveform and timer will appear while recording is in progress.
Recordings are currently limited to 3 minutes in length. The waveform and timer will indicate you're nearing this limit by turning red.
Clicking the check mark to the left of the waveform will stop the recording and present it to you for review and approval before submitting. To skip this step, you can click the Create button to immediately submit the audio note without the review step. The Cancel button will immediate close out the audio recording and all progress will be lost.
Playback of Audio Notes
Once an audio note has been submitted, it will appear in the notes list alongside all other text or audio notes. To play back an audio note, click the play button to the left of the waveform. Clicking within the waveform itself will allow you to quickly skip to a specific section of an audio note. The "1x" button can be clicked to toggle the speed of playback. The default setting is 1x, but 0.75x, 1.5x, and 2x are also available.
Any project member or guest who can see the note can play it back, but it will not play back in sync across all clients in a review; it only plays back on your computer.
They are not currently included in any of the batch download options such as Download as PDF and Download as CSV.
You cannot upload audio files; audio notes are strictly from the microphone.
