A crucial part of the review workflow is being able to track which feedback notes have been addressed in newer versions of the media item. SyncSketch features a simple mechanism for doing so called Note Resolution, in which
- Notes appearing in the Notes panel can be marked as Resolved
- Resolved notes can be hidden or displayed
- When displayed, resolved notes can be re-opened
There is no special meaning for "resolved" in SyncSketch; how you choose to apply the term is up to you and your review team. In fact, you can think of this function simply as a "hide" function.
Marking Notes as Resolved
From the action menu in the upper right of the note in the Notes panel, select Resolve Note.
A line is added to the note showing who marked it as resolved.
Un-resolving (re-opening) notes
If a note is erroneously marked as resolved, it can be re-opened. Make sure that Show resolved notes is checked in the Notes panel settings menu (see below), then select Re-Open Note from the note's Action menu, or simply click on the circled checkmark.
The line displaying who resolved it is removed.
Hiding resolved Notes
Resolved notes can be hidden in order to keep the focus on incomplete work. The setting for this appears at the end of the dropdown menu that can be found under the Settings menu button at the top of the Notes panel:
Unchecking Show resolved notes will cause resolved notes to disappear from the Notes panel. Any notes that follow the resolved notes are moved up into their place.
Checking Show resolved notes will restore visibility for resolved notes.
Downloading notes
When you choose Download Item Notes as a CSV file, there is now a new “Note Status” column that indicates whether a Note is resolved.
This column has been appended to the end so that scripts and processes that depend on the previous column layout of downloaded CSV files continue to work normally.
