SyncSketch's administrative hierarchy
... is as follows:
Workspaces > Project(s) > Review(s)
Any SyncSketch user can be a member of multiple workspaces and/or projects.
Workspaces
Typically each customer is the owner of a single workspace, and can access one or more others by invitation. For companies, the Workspace is frequently named for the organization that is using it.
Workspaces are the top "umbrella" level, and can contain projects. There are settings at the workspace level that can affect all projects in that workspace.
Projects
The Projects within the organization contain Reviews. There are settings at the Project level that can affect the reviews within as well as the users participating in the project.
Users can be added to a project (within Plan limits) and can access all Reviews within that project.
Reviews
The Review is the central activity space for SyncSketch. Reviews contain media items (videos, stills, 3D models etc.). This might be assets related to a small section of the overall Project, or they might be different iterations of the same clip.
The team that is collaborating on these items can be invited to a Review using a shared URL. Reviewers joining a "synced review" will all see the same frame or view from whichever media item is selected, even if the media is playing back. The view that is used for synced reviews is called the Review Player.
Media items in the Review can also be reordered and presented as a sequential playlist.
SyncSketch's media hierarchy extends further:
Reviews > media Items > Notes
Items
An Item is any piece of media that has been imported into a SyncSketch Review. You can view supported file types in the file format compatibility list.
Links to Items can be shared by simply copying the URL from the browser's Location bar when the item is in the Player; the item will be opened in the Review that it's in. You can even share "deep links" that not only open a specific Item in a specific Review, but jump directly to a specific frame or viewing angle.
Notes
Notes are annotations to media Items, which are linked not just to an Item in a Review but to a specific frame or viewing angle. Notes come in two varieties, the Sketch and the Comment. Sketches are drawings over the top of a media Item, and comments are text annotations. Again, both of these annotation types are linked to a specific frame or viewing angle.
You can share "deep links" not only to a specific frame of a media Item within a review, but to a specific comment attached to that frame.
