Is there a limit to how many videos I can upload?

No, go to town: Upload as many as you like!

Just consider that we're running as a free service with limited server power:
Please mind other users, when you are planning to upload a large number of videos at once.

Other users will be behind you videos in the conversion cue, and will have to wait for all of your videos to be done.

Can I Zoom into the video?

While we're working on an integrated solution, you can always use the standard browser controls to enlarge the website content.

Mac Windows
Zoom InCommand + Ctrl +
Zoom OutCommand - Ctrl +
Zoom InteractivelyCommand MouseScroll Ctrl MouseScroll
Reset ZoomCommand 0 Ctrl 0

Is there an API to upload multiple videos?

Glad you asked! Yes there is: However, for our API is very basic and allows uploads only.

We will extend the API along with creating SyncSketch Pro - which will become increasingly interesting as we have pro accounts, providing you a better overviews over your uploads.

The command in the first grey box will upload the video - the server will return an id, which will be your review link (see below)

The resulting review link would look like this:

> curl -i -F file=@fileToUpload.mov -F userEmail=name@email.com http://www.syncsketch.com/items/uploadToPlayground

My review link is not working! What can I do?

Links that don't work can have a number of reasons. Here the most common ones that can affect SyncSketch.

  • Your browser has a funky cache
"Force Refresh" all cached elements of the page by hitting Ctrl+F5 (WIN/Linux) -- or --- CMD +R (Mac)
  • Your browser is not compatible
Although we do our best to stay compatible with all browsers, not all browsers are created equal. Some are naturally better in working with SyncSketch than others. Firefox and Chrome seem to work most reliably.
If you have trouble opening a link, or if you experience speed issues - make sure you have the latest version.
  • The video has been removed
In this case you and your collaborators should receive a warning upon opening the link:
SyncSketch Playground periodically removes older reviews to free up space, typically after 7 days of inactivity. If you feel like your review was removed by mistake or still need access to this review, let us know.
  • Your video is still converting
If you upload your video via API, your video may still be converting.
  • Your cookie is outdated
And who likes old cookies? Remove your cookies for Syncsketch in your browser
    e.g. Firefox: Firefox/Preferences/Privacy > 'remove individual cookies'
search and remove all SyncSketch Cookies.

Still not working?
Let us try to reproduce what you're seeing and fix it. Send us the link, and don't forget to let us know what system and browser type and version you are running on!

Navigation

What's the best video format to upload?

There is no best format - all formats get converted equally. Of course you should upload your quality to get the best result.

On syncsketch playground, we are running a fairly strong compression, so that videos cache and respond fast in interaction.

We are thinking of giving users the option to set their compression level during upload, so that they can optimize playback vs. image quality.
